⚡️Magic Mountain Bohyt (Bohit, Bokhyt)⚡️
⚡️Ancient Sviatovid Sanctuary⚡️
People who reach the summit of this mountain in the Medobory range often notice positive changes in their life and health.
Yet, filled with extraordinary magical powers, the mountain does not welcome everyone. Many visitors have reported sudden worsening of weather conditions during the ascent, strong winds, heavy rain, disorientation, and other unexpected challenges.
🏔 The modest hills, now almost entirely covered with young oak-hornbeam-beech forests, were formed 12–15 million years ago, when the Sarmatian Sea once lapped here. The high ridges that make up the Medobory hills are actually ancient reefs, formed from the remains of marine organisms with limestone skeletons, preserved in sediment rather than broken apart.
🏔 Bohyt Mountain is the highest of the local hills. Reaching the area of greatest interest—the ancient sanctuary, a place of power—requires a long walk along a forest path.
🌱 The flora of the reserve includes about 1,000 species of rare plants, several dozen of which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
🐻 The fauna is equally rich, with over a dozen species also listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
🪨 On the way to the sanctuary, at the base of the hill, there is a Dolmen. According to one theory, the three-stone arch symbolized reincarnation. Standing in front of the dolmen with a specific intention, one could hear the Goddess of Fate, see their Path, realize their Destiny, and receive answers to important questions.
The forest hides an entire sacred city!
Archaeologists have discovered Scythian pottery at the sanctuary, showing that this land has been inhabited since ancient times. Its strategic location near historic trade routes made it ideal for settlement.
⚡️ The area contains pagan sanctuaries from the 11th–13th centuries. In ancient times, three fortress-sanctuaries existed: Bohyt, Hovda, and Zvenyhorod. Each had a different purpose: Zvenyhorod was a site of large pilgrimages, Bohyt was a mountain of the volkhvy (priests/shamans), and Hovda’s role remains largely unknown, as it is barely studied.
🙏 The best-preserved sanctuary is on Bohyt. Here stood the famous Zbruch Idol – Sviatovid, discovered in 1848 in the Zbruch River. Today, it is housed in the Krakow Museum.
🔥 Around the central site where Sviatovid once stood, eight sacrificial pits can still be seen.
Visiting this place, performing a ritual, and absorbing its energy is an incredibly powerful, magical, and moving experience. 🙏⚡️😇
This region is rich in scenic, unusual, and spiritually potent sites, steeped in the ancient history and energy of our ancestors. 🤗⚡️😍
