The meetings were held at Sokilska Lyceum, Zhvanyetska Lyceum, Slobodo-Rykhtivska Lyceum, Zavaletska Gymnasium, and Humenecka Lyceum. During the visits, students were introduced to opportunities to participate in the project and were invited to engage in practical educational and research activities.
Students were presented with the format of five-day research caving expeditions to the Atlantyda cave, hiking trips, inspections of historical defensive structures (DOTs), visits to regional history museums, and participation in setting up a section of the Camino Podolico tourist route, which passes through the territories of several communities.
Special attention during the meetings was given to cooperation with the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park. The Head of the Recreation and Environmental Education Department, Nataliya Yatsemirska, spoke to students about the Park’s activities, the participation of scientists in expeditions, and the use of research tools, including the iNaturalist platform, for studying the nature of their native land.
During the discussions, students actively expressed interest in the project program and their willingness to join the proposed initiatives. This demonstrates the importance of hands-on educational formats that help children and youth better understand their communities, develop research skills, teamwork, and a responsible attitude toward natural and cultural heritage.
The project is implemented by the NGO “Cultural and Educational Platform ‘Code of the Nation’”, together with the NGO “Atlantyda Speleoclub”, in partnership with the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park, the Zhvanyetska and Humenecka Village Councils.
The project is supported by the Askold & Dir Foundation, administered by ISAR Ednannia, under the program “Strong Civil Society of Ukraine — the Driving Force of Reforms and Democracy”, funded by the governments of Norway and Sweden.
