The idea for this project was born at the beginning of 2025. We dreamed of creating one interactive poetic alley. But it turned out — we created five!
Across five communities in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, we established five interactive poetic alleys, where 50 trees were planted and 50 children’s voices collected.
Next to each tree, there is a plaque with a QR code: simply point your camera, and you can hear a child reciting poetry.
These are living alleys.
Living, because the voices of children resound there. Most of them come from family-based care: adopted children, those under guardianship, and children whose childhood requires special care and support. They read Ukrainian poetry — classical and contemporary — poems about love for their homeland, parents, light, values, and life.
We wanted to convey a simple but important message:
every child’s voice deserves to be heard.
Especially the voices of children from small communities and villages. Their creativity, their perspective on the world, their intonations — these are treasures often overlooked.
This project is about how children feel Ukraine. About how they speak of love, hope, and the beauty of our land. About the meanings that are born only in a child’s heart.
And this is just the beginning.
We will continue creating spaces for children — places where they can create, express themselves, and be heard. Because childhood should last, no matter the external challenges. Childhood should be filled with smiles, joy, laughter, and the opportunity to create their own little miracles.
“Whispers of Ukraine in Children’s Voices” is when every tree speaks with the voice of a child — and that voice is worth hearing.
